Valencia Architecture

Valencia, Spain.

The city of Valencia underwent amazing transformation in 1995 when the Valencia born architect, Santiago Calatrava, designed the City of Arts and Sciences, based in the Jardi del Turia which runs from the older centre of the city towards the coast. There are numerous futuristic designs including Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, L'Hemisferic, Prince Philip Science Museum, L'Agora, L'Oceanografic and of course the L'Umbracle, an outdoor art gallery of massive sculptures.

I've attempted to showcase my impressions of Calatrava's work in Valencia. By presenting it in black and white I feel that it emphasises the physical form and structure of his project.
